Cautions and Limitations --------------------------------------------------- * This print driver is common to the models and designed for application software developed for Microsoft Windows 8.1 or later. It may not operate properly depending on the application in use due to an OS compatibility problem as below. - Color, type or size of printed line and pattern are different from those displayed on screen. - A part or whole of printed photo and bitmap are truncated or different from those displayed on screen. - Color, type, size or decoration of printed text is different from that displayed on screen. - Position of printed text or bitmap is different from that displayed on screen. - It may take long time to print. Printing of complex documents may fail. In those cases, please use your product-specific print driver. * If italic text is rotated in wrong direction, the problem can be avoided by updating OS as below. - Windows 8.1 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3067900 - Windows 10 November Update * When using Watermarks, font of text in document may be changed in rare cases. This problem can be avoided by selecting No for Transparent in the Watermarks settings. * When using both Watermarks and Annotation, Annotation may be garbled. For this reason, you may be able to select features unsupported and may not be able to select features supported. To make best use of the features of your model, please use your product-specific print driver. * You can select a paper source which your model does not support. In that case, paper source which is supported will be used or the printing will be cancelled. In most cases, selecting "Auto" is recommended. * 2 Sided printing When performing 2 Sided Print, application software may insert blank separators automatically to adjust pages. In that case, the blank separators output are counted up for billing. * 2 Sided Print is invalid with the models below. Output will be 1-Sided. - DocuPrint CP225/228 w - DocuPrint CM225/228 fw * In the case where you are using more than one printer driver icon and remove one of them, the Printing Preferences dialog may become a simple dialog which allows setting for only limited functions. In this case, please install the Print Extension, which can be downloaded from our web site. * Depending on the models and settings of printing port, a simple dialog which allows setting for only limited functions may be shown in printing from a Windows Store app. In this case, only basic functions are offered. * On Windows Server 2012, a simple dialog which allows setting for only limited functions may be shown. In this case, only basic functions are offered. * If you connect to remote desktop service on Windows Server 2012R2 from Windows 8.1, you may not be able to do printing. In this case, please use your product-specific print driver. * If you connect to remote desktop service, Headers and Footers may not be printed. * If the network discovery setting is invalid on your Windows OS, the installer may not be able to find your printer. In this case, please add a print driver manually following the messages. * Cautions for installing print driver to print server When you install a print driver from the print server on which the print driver is installed to a client PC using the driver installation tool, administrative right may be required. The problem can be avoided by installing the print driver using [Add Printer] which is provided by Windows(R) OS. Modified to support Package-Aware. In the shared printer environment, Administrator rights necessary for printer driver installation may not be required. * The installer of this print driver can create Driver Setup Package which has the same settings as already installed print driver. The Driver Setup Package can install print driver with customized initial settings on the other PC. * If a local user executes Driver Setup Package which is specified with 'Allow Local User to Install' on user folder like desktop, the execution may fail. Please place and execute the package on the folder like a root folder of drive C or a folder on server, which can be accessed by administrator who made the Driver Setup Package. * The settings bellow will not be taken over even if you specify 'Take Over Print Settings of Printer that References Settings'. Please set them manually after you install print driver using Driver Setup Package. - Watermarks Group - Watermarks : Text or Bitmap - Account Group - User ID - Password - Account ID - User ID for Secure Print - Billing ID - Passcode - Advanced Group - Email Address - Output Group - User ID - Secure Print Passcode * When you update this print driver from version 1.1 on Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012R2, it may show a simple dialog which has limited functions. In this case, click 'OK' and open the dialog again. * When you update this print driver, the print setteings may not be taken over. Please set it manually after you install print driver. * Test printing may not be possible in 'Ready to Print' dialog even if it is installed completely.
