General Comments --------------------------------------------------- * Close all the running applications before installing the print driver. * Always reboot the computer after installing an upgraded version of the print driver. * If you have deleted an older version of the print driver, always reboot the computer before installing the new version. * Some applications provide printing options pertaining to the number of copies and collated copies. Always select the printing options in the application unless the instructions specify otherwise. Use the print driver dialogs to select advanced options that are not available in the application. * Always close the print driver dialogs and/or the application Print dialog box before you make any changes to the default settings of the print driver via the Control Panel. * For the installation through the networks on Windows Vista, if you right-click on [Printer] folder, go to [Run as administrator] from the menu and select [Add printer...], printer icon may not be generated. * Rename a Printer Icon should comply OS file naming convention. Use Symbols or special characters may incur renaming error or unexpected print driver behavior. * Before installing a print driver in the Windows cluster environment, you need to install it on each node in the cluster. --------------------------------------------------- 4. Cautions and Limitations --------------------------------------------------- (1) Overall printing from application software This is a printer driver for application software developed for "Microsoft Windows Vista" or later versions. It may not operate properly depending on the application in use due to an OS compatibility problem. Before using this driver for XPS, be sure to confirm that the printers or multifunction devices in use have XPS Print features. If driver for XPS is used with printers or multifunction devices without XPS Print features, unexpected output may come about. (2) Installation through networks In the case of installation through networks, if you right-click on [Printers], go to [Run as administrator (R)] and select [Add printer...(P)] to perform installation, printer icon may not be generated. To prevent that, right-click on [Add a printer...(P)] or select [Add a printer] command button. (3) Printing through shared printer from Microsoft Internet Explorer When printing XPS documents displayed on Internet Explorer, if a print job is sent from the PC using the shared driver for XPS through networks, an error may occur. (4) 2 Sided printing When performing 2 Sided Print, application software may insert blank separators automatically to adjust pages. In that case, the blank separators output are counted up for billing. (5) Pages per sheet When [Pages per sheet] in the device charm cannot be set with a conflict message, please open [Printing preferences] of the driver in [Devices and Printers] dialog on Windows Desktop, set [Multiple-Up] and [Image Order] in [Advanced Options] dialog and try again. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [XPS] stands for [XML Paper Specification].
